Yorkshire cloth proves perfect fit for Suit the City

Leeds based Suit the City franchisee Gordon Inglis has been inundated with orders from Yorkshire businessmen, following the launch of a unique pinstripe fabric for suits, which on closer inspection has ‘Yorkshire’ woven into the stripe of the pattern.

“Yorkshire people are famous for their sense of pride in their county,” says Gordon. “This high quality cloth was originally the brainchild of ‘Mr.Yorkshire’ Keith Madeley and has been produced at a great old Yorkshire cloth manufacturer, Joseph H. Clissold, at their mill in Bradford. It looks incredibly smart and subtly proclaims the wearer’s Yorkshire heritage. At Suit the City we’re offering made to-measure suits in the Yorkshire fabric and unsurprisingly it’s proving incredibly popular! ”

Local MPs and the Lord Mayor Bradford were amongst distinguished Yorkshire guests attending a special event held at Clissold’s mill to launch the Yorkshire pinstripe suit.

Suit the City garments are manufactured to exact specifications and measurements at their European factory. Orders take around six weeks from intial measuring by the franchisee to final delivery for presentation to the customer.

Technical Director Sallie Belton comments, “We’re delighted with Gordon’s success – it seems the rising demand we’re seeing across the UK for professionally styled and fitted clothing has combined with a specially designed fabric to create the perfect fit for Yorkshire!”
