Award-winning mobile coffee franchise Cafe2U, has recently added a new member of staff to their already successful head office team.
Martyn Ward brings with him over 20 years of franchise experience and has taken on the role of national franchise recruitment manager of the Leeds-based franchise.
As national franchise recruitment manager, Martyn’s role will be to identify potential franchisees, to ensure candidates are a good fit for the business, to take them through the selection and recruitment process and ultimately, to grow the business through the recruitment of new franchise partners.
Having worked in similar roles at United Franchise Group and Alex Clark Lettings, Martyn is well-versed in the recruitment process and describes his perfect franchise partner candidate,
‘They must have a solid work ethic, a passion for the brand, great people skills and the desire to do something different with their lives.’
He credits online franchise portals and franchise shows as successful ways of finding new franchisees but is unequivocal when he says that a referral from an existing franchise partner is the very best type of lead,
‘As in most walks of life, positive testimonials about your product or service are by far the best way of selling and it’s absolutely no different when selling franchises. If you see your cousin/friend/brother doing really well with their new Cafe2U business, of course you’re going to want to find out more, why wouldn’t you? Sometimes the hardest part of my job is telling someone why I don’t think they’d be a good fit for owning one of our territories; we have incredibly high standards, after all our franchisees ARE our business, so we want to make sure we only have the very best which I’m delighted to say, we do.’
With 20 years of experience, Martyn explains what makes Cafe2U the success story it is today,
‘It comes down to people. Having the right people in the right jobs; from the team at head office to the franchise partners themselves; highly professional people, all pulling in the same direction, it’s a winning combination as our recent figures show.’
