With current and aspiring pet parents and pet lovers in mind, Wag N’ Wash Natural Food & Bakery, a full-line specialty pet retail and grooming destination for dogs and cats, has sniffed out Las Vegas as part of its next wave of expansion.
The Denver-based chain has already signed an agreement for its first Las Vegas store – which will likely open in Summerlin South or Anthem by the end of the year – and plans to have as many as three area locations in the next few years.
“Las Vegas is widely regarded as one of the best cities for pet lovers, so we couldn’t be more excited about bringing Wag N’ Wash to the market,” said co-founder Jef Strauss. “Our customers treat their pets as members of the family and they wish to provide them with the best products and services. Wag N’ Wash gives them everything they need to achieve that, all under one roof.”
Advertised as “one cool place,” Wag N’ Wash offers a community for pet enthusiasts to come, find quality goods and services for their pet companions, and simply be pet people. Among the store’s offerings are various brands of all-natural pet foods for dogs and cats, high-end supplements, grooming and washing facilities, and cool toys. In addition, an in-house bakery, rare in the pet store market, offers treats such as Liver Bites, Pumpkin Ravioli, Poochie Sushi and a variety of pies, cakes and muffins using human grade ingredients.
“We’re more than a pet store or grooming shop. We provide dogs, cats and even their humans with a unique experience unlike any other,” Strauss added. “Where else can you wash ’em, feed ’em, and spoil ’em all in one cool place?”
The area’s first store will be owned and operated by husband and wife Jeremiah Richardson and Christie McLean, both of whom always dreamed about being small business owners, but could never find the right fit.
“While researching various franchise concepts, we discovered Wag N’ Wash and immediately knew it was meant to be,” said McLean. “For us, one of the most gratifying parts is that we’ll get to surround ourselves with animals and the people who care about them on a daily basis.”
