An experienced former civil servant has realised a lifelong dream of becoming his own boss after launching an oven valeting firm in East Cardiff.

Paul Mackay is now the owner of Ovenu Cardiff East, following a career working at the Valuation Office in Colchester and for an insurance firm.

Paul, 48, is originally from Colchester but moved to Cardiff 15 years ago.

He is setting his sights on rapid expansion and plans to take on a number of sub-contractors, serving more areas of Cardiff, within the next couple of years.

Paul said: “I’ve always wanted to work for myself and as soon as the opportunity came about, I jumped at the chance. It will be an exciting challenge and I think it is the right time to take the plunge into business, especially with the ongoing support from Ovenu at my disposal.

“The long-term aim is to expand into further areas within the city and create opportunities for sub-contractors to come on board, so I am concentrating on establishing the business first and creating a thriving customer base to turn this goal into a reality.”

Ovenu Cardiff East provides an environmentally-friendly oven valeting service to homes and businesses throughout East Cardiff.
