OSCAR, the first and only pet food company to introduce a Certcan Ofqual course in Companion Animal Nutrition, has, once again, a very good cause to celebrate franchisee success.
On launching the course in September 2015, OSCAR was highly delighted when the first intake consisted of over 20% of its network. The results are now in and they are pleased to announce that 100% passed, with 99% of the franchisees qualifying with a distinction.
Simon Bartholomew, Franchise Director at OSCAR Pet Foods and Chairman of the British Franchise Association, says,“This is a great achievement for our franchisees and we are proud that they so readily embraced the introduction of the course. With ongoing projects, the additional education provides confidence when advising customers, while helping to cement brand loyalty.”
Dedicating four hours a week to study for nine months has been time well spent in order to achieve an advanced knowledge in the complexities of pet nutrition. When franchisees understand diet, feeding regimes and nutrition for health and disease, as well as the effects of nutrition on behaviour for dogs and cats, it provides the trust that pet owners will value to secure long-lasting loyalty.
With recognition throughout the national education system, gaining this certification has allowed franchisees to use the designated letters CertCan (QCF Level 3)* after their name. This opens up more avenues of opportunity, extends nutrition and behavioural support to customers, and busy pet professionals, and in particular something of interest to veterinary services.
