Chronic Tacos Fulfills 15 Year Old’s Wish

Fast-Casual taco shop franchise helps fulfill wish of 15-year-old Michael Kincade to throw first pitch at the June 23rd game.

For 15-year-old Michael Kincade, his dream of meeting Mike Trout, MVP center fielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, got a little sweeter when Chronic Tacos helped fulfill his wish by donating the opportunity to throw out the honorary first pitch of the June 23rd Angels game against the Houston Astros.

Michael, who is living with leukemia, was joined Tuesday by his family to watch the Angels take batting practice from the field, meet Trout and other Angels players, take a “behind the scenes” tour of the ballpark, throw out the honorary first pitch and enjoy the baseball game.

“We are grateful that Chronic Tacos helped to make Michael’s wish memorable by allowing him to throw out the honorary first pitch,” said Stephanie McCormick, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire. “This was above and beyond the typical Angels wish that most children receive and could not have happened without the generosity of Chronic Tacos.”

The locally-based, fresh Mexican grill participated in the wish granting through its partnership with Make-A-Wish and Angel Stadium. Chronic Tacos has operated inside the ballpark for four years and is recognized as a top performing food vendor as well as a ballpark staple for Angels Baseball fans.

“We feel so fortunate when we can use our relationships to help support the wishes of others,” said Michael Mohammed, CEO of Chronic Tacos, which also regularly supports No Kid Hungry as well as other cause-based organizations. “Throwing out the first pitch was the perfect way to round out Michael’s amazing day at the ballpark, and we’re glad we could help make it happen.”

Chronic Tacos also sponsored an Angels Hat Night on Tuesday, where fans in attendance received a co-branded Chronic Tacos Beach Hat. The fast-casual franchise kicked off the 2015 baseball season with a whole new look, based off the recent system-wide rebranding the franchise system recently underwent. The new look and feel complements the progression of ballpark renovations and neighboring vendors, creating a more modern and cohesive style.
