Brits are set to get ‘extra cheesy’ this weekend, as Domino’s Pizza UK gears up for one of its busiest nights of the year, with an estimated 4 million slices of freshly-made pizza to be delivered to love nests across the UK on Saturday 14 February 2015. The predicted peak in pizza sales is a 26 per cent increase on a standard Saturday night’s trading for the pizza company. The busiest time for orders is expected to be around 7.00pm.
Simon Wallis, Marketing Director at Domino’s Pizza UK said: “Over the past few years, we’ve noticed customers across the country are shunning overpriced and overcrowded restaurants in favour of staying indoors to enjoy a night of ‘Pepperoni Passion’ with their special someone. Freshly baked pizza is the ultimate sharing food that can be delivered direct to your door, making it a delicious option for those who are looking to enjoy a slice of the action this weekend.”
How this year’s Valentine’s Day saucy stats stack up:

This includes:

- 88,408kg of mozzarella cheese – equivalent to the weight of 73,673 copies of Fifty Shades of Grey
